“The Taki Mountain range flourished as a Shugendo site (Japanese mountain asceticism-shamanism incorporating Shinto and Buddhist concepts) from the end of the Heian era to the medieval times. The Taki Mountain was burned in 1482. In recent years, large groups of the Japanese primrose have been seen in the valley line at the base of the mountain. The Japanese primrose is native to wetlands and is in bloom from early May to early June. It has a shape resembling nine rings.”
