“This tomb is the second largest keyhole-shaped tomb mound in Hyogo prefecture and its total length is 140m (reconstruction total length is 156m). The tomb is surrounded by a moat and there are two Baichou (smaller barrows) to the south and north. It was built in the middle of the Burial Mound Era, at the middle of the fifth century. Excavation was carried out by village people in Higashi Honjyo in the Meiji Era .Many weapons including helmets, swords, spears, and a large oblong shape sarcophagus were found in a pit-type sekkaku (stone chamber). The inside of the stone chamber was restored based on the records that are displayed at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Archaeology.”
