““The 70th （Regiment of） Foot” was placed about 10 minutes’ walk away from Sasayama City central (including about 35 hectare property). It was known as “Ogre from Tanba” from hard mountain training from 1908 through 1945. Former site of firing test field was opening to the public and became as resort facility“Unitopia Sasayama”. After war former site of regiment was renewed as school zone including Sasayama agricultural high school (current Industry high school) and Hyogo Agriculture College (move to the Kobe University department of agriculture).”
