“The Ohshoin is Sasayama castle’s largest structure. It was used as a primary school and public hall after the Meiji Era until it burned down in 1944. In 2000, the Ohshoin was reconstructed at the request of the local residents. The builders used the results of an excavation as well as an old photograph in order to reconstruct the Ohshoin as closely to the original as possible.”
